We spent years doing QA at enterprise scale, fighting the tools supposed to help us do it. SmartRuns exists because we got tired of waiting for someone else to build what we needed.
QA didn't have to be this hard.
It started, like most products, with frustration. We were QA engineers and engineering managers who'd been through the same cycle too many times: tests scattered across Confluence, Notion, and spreadsheets that nobody dared touch. Sprint after sprint, half the suite didn't run because there wasn't time. When something broke in production, the first question was always the same: “was this covered?” Nobody had a clean answer.
We looked at what existed. Enterprise tools required a consultant to set up and a purchase order to renew. Lightweight ones maxed out the moment a team grew past ten people. The ones adding AI bolted it on as an afterthought. None of it built around how QA practitioners actually think. None of them felt like they were built by people who actually ran test cycles.
So we built the tool we always wished existed. One place for every test case, a workflow that mirrors how QA teams actually work, and AI that turns a Jira ticket into a complete test suite in seconds, without replacing the engineer behind it.

SmartRuns is built by Nuria, Álvaro, and Carlos: three practitioners with roots in QA and engineering, working from Cádiz and Málaga. We spent years on the other side: writing test cases, managing test cycles, and watching solid coverage plans fall apart under sprint pressure.
All three of us still write code, talk to customers, and shape the product. Every decision gets made by people who've actually lived the problem.
